Autumn Wine Tours in Zakarpattia and Odesa

Travel Oct 28, 2025

Autumn is the perfect season to travel around Ukraine—when vineyards are heavy with ripe grapes and wineries welcome guests with open doors.

During this time, Zakarpattia and Odesa transform into gastronomic hubs, offering authentic cuisine, historic castles, and unique tastings. This is where the authentic flavor of Ukrainian wine is born—from the cellars of Mukachevo to the sun-drenched vineyards of Tairovo.

Wine tours in autumn are more than just leisure—they’re an introduction to the people who shape traditions, and a chance to see Ukraine through the lens of taste, culture, and warm hospitality. In this guide, we’ve gathered the top fall routes that blend relaxation, history, and enjoyment of every moment.

Cheese & Wine Tour through Zakarpattia (2 days / 1 night)

Lviv — Stryi — “Karpaty” Sanatorium (Schönborn Palace) — Mukachevo — Berehove — Vynohradiv — Synevyr / Iza — Mizhhirya — Pylypets — Lviv

A 2-day gastronomic and sightseeing tour for those who appreciate natural beauty, fine wine, and Transcarpathian cuisine. The journey begins with departure from Lviv at 08:00 or from Stryi at 09:00. The first stop is the “Karpaty” Sanatorium, featuring the iconic Schönborn Palace—a prime example of Austro-Hungarian architecture. Next comes a tour of Mukachevo Castle, a deep dive into the city’s history, and lunch at a local restaurant.

The journey continues to Berehove, where participants can choose to soak in thermal pools or stroll through the town’s historic center. The day ends with a wine tasting in the low-mountain region near Berehove, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in local rural guesthouses.

Day 2 begins with breakfast and a transfer to Vynohradiv for a craft cheese tasting. The main highlight of the route is a trip to Synevyr National Park, including a hike to the lake, a visit to the bear rehabilitation center, and a traditional Carpathian lunch. Return to Stryi by 20:45 and to Lviv by 21:45.

Winter itinerary (late November to late March): instead of Synevyr — tours to Iza (willow weaving workshop), visit to a deer farm, lunch in Mizhhirya, a chairlift ride, and a visit to Shypit Waterfall in Pylypets. The tour is full of scenery, flavors, and authentic cultural charm.
