Ukraine offers dozens of places and destinations that are perfect for a trip for two: with picturesque landscapes, historic architecture, gastronomic discoveries, and cozy hotels. In this selection, we have gathered the most interesting of them.
Tunnel of Love in the Rivne Region
One of the most famous romantic symbols of Ukraine is located near the town of Klevan. It is a section of railway where trees have naturally formed a green corridor. In spring and summer, it turns into a dense emerald arch; in autumn, it becomes a golden alley; and in winter, snow on the tracks and trees adds a magical beauty to the place.
Several legends are associated with this location. According to one of them, a young man from Orzhiv once fell in love with a girl from Klevan, but because of different religious beliefs, their families opposed the relationship. Supposedly, while working as an engineer, he initiated the construction of the railway branch through the forest, and the lovers communicated with each other using light signals after learning Morse code.
Another story has a tragic tone — it tells of a couple who could not be together and perished in the local marshes. It is said that at night, a lonely light can sometimes be seen here. There is also a pragmatic explanation: during Soviet times, the railway was lined with trees, and the regular movement of freight trains gradually “trimmed” the branches, forming a perfect arch.
The Tunnel became popular among couples thanks to its photogenic nature and legends. The best time to visit is weekday mornings or the off-season months, when there are fewer tourists. Klevan is located about 20 km from Rivne, so it is convenient to stay there or choose a countryside complex in the region.
SPA Weekend at a Country Hotel
A SPA getaway for two has remained one of the most popular formats for short romantic trips around Ukraine for many years. According to travel booking aggregators, the highest demand is for countryside complexes near Kyiv, in the Lviv region, and in the Carpathian region.
This format does not require complicated logistics: 1–2 hours on the road is enough to find yourself in forest or mountain tranquility. Most modern complexes offer SPA services for couples — massages for two, saunas, hammams, outdoor pools or hot tubs, as well as rooms with panoramic windows or terraces. The National Dendrological Park “Sofiyivka” in Uman was founded in 1796: Polish magnate Stanisław Potocki created it as a gift for his wife, Sofia. This fact makes the location symbolic for a romantic journey.
“Sofiyivka” is a large ensemble of landscape architecture with ponds, grottoes, bridges, sculptures, and waterfalls. One of the most atmospheric parts of the route is a boat trip along the underground river Acheron through the Grotto of Venus — this section of the excursion is often called the park’s main “highlight.”
The best time to visit is from April to October. In spring, the park is especially beautiful during blooming season; in summer, it delights with cool alleys; and in autumn, with bright foliage colors.
Castle Romance: Kamianets-Podilskyi Fortress
Kamianets-Podilskyi Fortress is one of the most famous defensive structures in Ukraine and an architectural symbol of the city. Its fortifications were formed between the 14th and 17th centuries, and Kamianets-Podilskyi itself is located on a rocky island surrounded by the canyon of the Smotrych River.
For a romantic weekend, not only the fortress matters, but also the atmosphere of the Old Town: narrow streets, stone houses, and viewing platforms overlooking the canyon. The sunset over the Smotrych is one of the most impressive moments of the trip, especially in the warm season.

Odesa’s historic center, included in the UNESCO cultural heritage list, adds another layer of depth to the trip. Old courtyards with worn stucco, Primorsky Boulevard, and the stairs by which the city descends to the sea. The traditional “chan” is one of the most famous relaxation formats in the Carpathians. It is a large metal hot tub filled with hot water, installed outdoors — near the forest or overlooking the mountains.
The concept is simple: hot water, cool mountain air, and silence all around. In winter, it is especially impressive — steam rises above the water, snow surrounds you, and dark slopes loom nearby. In the warm season, the hot tub is often combined with mountain walks or relaxation in a cottage.

Kyiv — The Romance of a Big City
Kyiv does not require complicated scenarios for a romantic weekend. It is enough to look at familiar locations from a different perspective. A morning walk along Andriivskyi Descent, when the cobblestones are still empty, followed by a panoramic view of the Dnipro River from Volodymyrska Hill or a river cruise in the warm season.
