Kyiv Zoo

More than 1,000 animals of nearly 300 species live in the legendary Kyiv Zoo. Here you can see the largest land predators and herbivores on the planet: an elephant, giraffes, a hippopotamus, lions, tigers, a gorilla, and more.

Among other things, the zoo has terrariums and a small petting farm, so children will have a great opportunity not only to observe the animals but also to interact with them. There are also amusement rides on the territory.

The city zoo is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 17:00. On Mondays it opens at 12:00.

Oceanarium “Sea Fairy Tale”

The Kyiv museum “Sea Fairy Tale” opened its doors in December 2012. The oceanarium is home to more than 2,600 inhabitants: fish, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates belonging to nearly 170 species. The territory includes 50 aquariums, open pools, and an underwater tunnel located 2 meters below the water’s surface. The exit from the tunnel is designed in the style of Captain Nemo’s submarine.

At the entrance, young and adult visitors are greeted by a legendary corsair. He leads the first exhibition gallery — an upside-down wooden ship. Through its portholes, you can see a six-meter coral complex with fish, sea stars, sea urchins, sponges, and more.

The largest aquarium of the oceanarium is home to a green sea turtle, a Hawksbill turtle, large batfish, arguses, and groupers, with a total weight of 17 tons. At the exit from the central hall, you will find the “Nemo Zone” — about ten aquariums with clownfish, triggerfish, surgeonfish, and others.

In addition, the Sea Fairy Tale hosts shark and sea turtle feeding shows every Friday at 15:00.

Science and Technology Museum “Experimentarium”

Walk through mechanical labyrinths, launch a cloud under the ceiling, create an air bridge, or operate a real fire truck? At the Experimentarium, children can not only watch but also touch, experiment, and study different scientific phenomena. This is the perfect place for young explorers that will definitely evoke a wow-effect.

The permanent exhibition includes more than 300 interactive exhibits dedicated to mechanics, optics, electricity, magnetism, and acoustics. In addition, there is an anatomy section, sections “Secrets of Water”, “Modern Technologies”, and an updated “Da Vinci Mechanics” exhibition. The museum also features optical illusions, puzzles, a laser maze, and a mirror maze.

Spectacular educational entertainment shows are also held here.

Educational Center “Dytyacha Planeta”

At the “Dytyacha Planeta” center, children can play and learn at the same time, developing independence and creative thinking.

In particular, kids can enjoy numerous workshops, a large trampoline zone, a slide with a climbing area where they can climb up a rope and then slide into a foam pit, a café with a children’s menu, and a video-game console with a wide selection of games.

Miniature Railway Miniland.UA

At the interactive miniature museum Miniland.UA, you can see the largest model of the Ukrainian railway. It reproduces the modern landscape of our country at a scale of 1:87.

Children will see half a kilometer of tracks with 35 precise locomotive replicas and 156 wagons. Along the tracks — forests, bodies of water, and hills that recreate the diversity of Ukrainian nature.

A special feature of the model is the moving elements. Visitors can watch trains and cars rushing along the tracks and roads, mills, barriers, and even the change from day to night. Every detail impresses with realism and authenticity.

There is always electricity in Miniland.UA, so you don’t need to worry about power outages.

Children’s City of Professions “KidsWill”

KidsWill is the first children’s city of professions in Ukraine, where kids can feel like adults and independent through play. Here they learn about different professions, get hired for jobs, and develop skills in earning and spending money.

The spacious halls include thematic zones by profession, equipped with props, installations, and decorations.

KidsWill regularly hosts themed celebrations with gifts, competitions, quests, and immersive shows. You can also celebrate a child’s birthday here.

Jellyfish Museum

The Jellyfish Museum opened at the end of 2018 in the heart of Kyiv — on Khreshchatyk. It was created by professional aquarists led by Oleksandr and Yana Yanovskyi, who have completed many projects, including the oceanarium “Sea Fairy Tale”.

In this museum, children will learn about the number of jellyfish species known to humanity and about the only immortal organism on the planet. They will also see an exotic collection of jellyfish and admire their dance inside the aquariums.

The exhibition is updated at least three times a year.

Fly Park Children’s Entertainment Center

Fly Park is a Kyiv location with entertainment for every child, regardless of age or interests.

The territory includes a maze with a ball pit, playhouses, cars, ride-ons and a zipline, a trampoline zone for both kids and adults, an Xbox and VR area, and a zone with professional equipment for creating TikTok videos.

In addition, various workshops and interactive programs with animators are held here regularly.

Kyiv Planetarium

The Kyiv Planetarium is one of the largest in Europe. It has been introducing the city’s residents to the stars and celestial phenomena for 65 years. Although it was originally located in the Oleksandrivskyi Cathedral, in 1987 it was moved to the unique spherical building familiar to all Kyivans.

Today it is a scientific, educational, cultural, and entertainment space for learning and leisure. Visitors can watch modern full-dome films in 360° format, explore educational astronomy and natural science programs, and see realistic representations of the starry sky and celestial events.

Children’s Railway

The Children’s Railway in Syretskyi Park is a place where kids can truly feel like railway workers. Here they are allowed to seat passengers in carriages, control the movement, and even prepare the rolling stock for a trip.

On the children’s railway, kids can not only have fun but also celebrate a birthday or any other special occasion.

The season usually opens in April and closes at the end of October.
