The Carpathians are the perfect destination for active recreation. Mountain landscapes, fresh air, and opportunities for extreme and relaxed activities make this region an excellent choice for a weekend getaway.

In this article, we’ve gathered the best ways to spend time in the Carpathians, so choose an activity that suits your taste and prepare for unforgettable adventures!

1. Kayaking on Mountain Rivers

Kayaking is a fantastic way to feel the adrenaline and enjoy the picturesque scenery of the Carpathians. Boats can be rented at tourist bases (for example, “Waves of Cheremosh” in Verkhovyna). The cost starts at 500 UAH/hour, and beginners are provided a mandatory briefing (included in the tour price).

2. Rafting in the Carpathians

3. Paragliding Over the Peaks

Flights can be booked through clubs like “SkyClub Carpathians” (Polonyna Borzhava) or “Verkhovyna Fly” (Verkhovyna village). The cost starts from 1500 UAH (photos and videos included).
Skill level: no experience is needed, as flights are conducted with an instructor.


4. Cycling: Routes for Explorers

Feel the freedom on mountain trails! Rent a bike from VeloRIDE (Bukovel) or Skita Carpathians (Vorokhta). The cost starts at 300 UAH/day. Bring water, snacks, and a map, and consider installing a mobile app for route planning.

8. Horseback Riding on Carpathian Trails

9. Zipline: Flying Over Abysses
